Evolutions of this page
from ntimpythonanywhere.pythonanywhere.com to kwabssntim.vercel.app and now kwabsntim.github.io. Ha! its been a time. I remember the first time i wanted to create a site for myself. I didnt really think of how it will look like, just me trying to produce something based on what I had learnt. but before we go through all the evolutions of this page i think i need to give you a starter story.
2024: Coming back to programming
Beginning 2024, as part of my new year resolutions, I decided to go full time programming. 2023 was not all that good because I had enrolled in the university and i was finding my way around. the courses were hectic and i didnt really know what i was doing. we were taught c++ in class but i was totally confused because the lecturer used a whole new approach than what i had learnt whiles at home before coming to the university. so lets just say 2023 was just me being confused lol!..
okay now back to 2024. i started out with a 6hrs course on html css, not to say i watched all 6hrs in one sitting but then i used to do max 30 minutes a day. the course was from youtube and the facilitator was chinese, boyy! the guy really taught well and after some weeks we were creating a clone of youtube. i might say it was really fun tho and for the first time i knew the complete basics of HTML and CSS, it was really fulfilling i felt like i was the best programmer there was hahaha!
but then after the course i didnt really know how to put what i had learnt into practice and that happens mostly when you watch or use youtube videos to learn a skill, it almost feels like you cant do anything after. but then browsing the net one day i saw the site of one of the nsmq contestants (mbebo nona, adisadel). he had created a simple site for himself and i realised he used the same HTML and CSS i had learnt. so fired up, i decided to also build a site for myself.
first iterations
well well, i started out by trying to reproduce his layout, but then i was finding it quite difficult so i just said “let me just create something like that” and the “like that” turned out to be very bad. but then i was actually proud to say “yeah, i now have a site”. fast forward i learnt in depth into css and realised a lot so i was better at styling now and then i created the first ever nice version of the site you are reading from today. i tried putting it on the net but it was much more difficult than me even creating it haha! so i just paused and went back to researching and doing my stuff.
after sometime i saw a project of my good friend prince larbi, then it was hosted on pythonanywhere so i made him teach me how to host stuff there and boyy it was confusing but then i guess i tinkered and figured it out. but one thing was, before you could host your site on pythonanywhere the site was supposed to be a python site so i went on to learn django which is a python framework for web programming. the early stages were difficult and during this phase was when i googled a lot as a programmer — i sat with an error for close to two weeks until i figured it out (then AI was not really this big a thing).

I might say building out this site gave me exposure. chale i explored a lot of things i know today in programming just by building this site.it was a django based site and now i realise it was an overkill then for a personal site lol! but then it taught me the basis of backend programming. i learnt the basis of CRUD (create,read,update,delete) and literally all the content on that site was being served from the server and then the database.
it was hosted on pythonanywhere. this site taught me databases especially sqlite and more aspects of frontend like how to style your page for mobile etc. i shared it online and some friends checked it out (wasnt really a big thing) and most didnt really get what it was but, then i was excited because finally finally! i could actually brag that i had my own personal site and i could show it to anyone just using my phone. you can check out how it looked here and the image below.

the pythonanywhere site existed for a while but then i started realising that it was an over kill for just a personal site and most of my friends were having their sites on this hosting platform called “vercel” so i also decided to try it out. so i set out to rebuild the whole site again, but this time not using the backend for data fetching but then just maintaining it in static mode. moreover i didnt really need the backend so.. just the frontend stuff.
so november 2024 i decided to build the site anew. building it was easier this time and was very simple too just one page site and nothing else. it felt good again but where i faced challenges was me hosting on vercel kw3! (in Ga language) i faced a lot in that deployment alone. and the thing i was missing was i didnt name my main page file “index.html” so vercel was not recognising the file so it always showed me the 404 chale! attitude, i was writing wsgi but then to no avial until one youtube video saved my life and finally my site was live at kwabssntim.vercel.app.
i laughed that whole day because how could i miss such a thing but well i have learnt that even the best of programmers sometimes miss the smallest details. but funny enough i dont have a picture of this rebuild. but i am pretty sure i will find it one day tho,but where ? lol!

2025 was the year of enlightenment. i got to know more about startups and startup culture and i watched more “docus” (documentary) on startups and how they came about. one startup that amazed me then was “paystack”. and its founders shola akinlade and ezra olubi. so i went in depth researching about them and noticed their twitter handles and i dont know how the thought of “i think i need to rebuild my site to look like a twitter page” come about. but then after this i was eager to rebuild my site for it to look more like a twitter page.
so december 2025 i started building my site to look exactly like a twitter page. it was quite a sprint that christmas . i had just finished my internship and didnt really have any project to work on so i decided to just do that. one thing i learnt from this rebuild was how to effectively use AI for programming (prompting).
funny enough i built the whole site just using prompts and i would say it made me speed up a little tho (by 2025 AI was now big and every developer was using it so..). i started on the 26th and ended on the 1st of january 2026. literally i spent my christmas just programming. the build up looked great i quite remember a developer friend of mine looked at it and said “wow! is that your site?” and i was “big headed”. you can see the site from the image below.

this i would say is the current page you are viewing and i guess this will be the final and stable version this site will be in, well unless i have a change of mind. this came as a result of me seeing how simple personal sites should be like (after looking at a few ones from people). and most importantly the reason i rebuilt the page again was to start blogging (and you are reading the first post). the next steps for this page is to buy a domain which is long overdue for me but then by the end of this year i will get one tho.
my final words will be, this site has taught me a lot as a developer and has made me evolve enough to be doing what you see today. if you have been able to reach this end, a thank you to you. and i would say this site changed because i changed. stay tuned for more stuff like this and more.
